The Centre for Learning and Professional Development offers opportunities for staff to develop their teaching, through a number of programmes designed to enhance and support teaching practice. Throughout the year we offer workshops covering many areas of teaching.  The workshops are open to all teaching staff, and promote sharing of ideas and experience. 

We can assist in making applications to the Higher Education Academy and offer support for teaching staff seeking recognition for excellence in teaching in Higher Education through the National Teaching Fellowship scheme. The annual BETA award, managed through the Centre, supports and encourages innovation in teaching and learning.

The Centre also runs a series of seminars exploring learning and teaching issues.
